FOCUS -
the English dictionary meaning for this term would be
-
to converge at a single point
The month was a good one with sales
target far exceeding the ones we had set.
However, the contribution of each member towards this achievement
was lacking.
That's exactly what the FOCUS for
the month is going to be - each one contributes by keeping his FOCUS
to achieve the vision laid which is
"To be amongst the top 100 IT companies in INDIA in the next two
years"
Why does one lose FOCUS:
ð
Ability to postpone an activity or work that was
scheduled
ð
Ability to console oneself by being under the
impression that too much has been done by me
ð
Too much to do on a day and no time to complete
ð
Trying to achieve all at the same time
ð
Jobs handled with no real interest or soul into the
job
ð
Keeping things to be done for tomorrow
ð
Procrastinate…..procrastinate ….procrastinate
To summarize "We are working for
our earnings and not for our contribution that could benefit
everyone to achieve the broader goals finally leading to achieve the
organizational vision"
How to keep FOCUS:
ð
Keep short term fixed daily goals - so maintain a TODO
list for the day and see how much is closed actually
ð
Do not loose the targets that have been set and
constantly reconcile to achieve them
ð
One big deal never makes the difference; its the small
ones that matter and make it big
ð
Deliver what has been set on time
ð
If delivery looks improper reset the timelines and go
all out to achieve it
ð
Work and get a deal as if there is no tomorrow
ð
Follow up with a prospect till he becomes a
customer(even if it takes n tries on a single day)
ð
Once a customer he should be with us for life
ð
Document and communicate everything.... use automated
tools like Outlook as they make work and life simpler
ð
Don’t neglect to document the basis for your
analytical review, as well as your results!
ð
You always need to justify why the expectation you
have developed makes good sense
